The cheapest published price we found for a single dental implant in the UK is ยฃ1,320, at a Brighton clinic that charges its CT scan on top. Next is ยฃ1,495 in Edinburgh, plus ยฃ149 for the scan and planning. In the other cities in our table, the cheapest clinic starts at between ยฃ1,750 (Aberdeen) and ยฃ2,581 (Plymouth). Prices are not regulated: the General Dental Council says there are no set limits on what practices can charge for private dental treatment, and they vary from practice to practice. That variation is the main reason you can pay less without cutting corners, as long as you compare like with like.

What do the cheapest prices actually include?
Often less than the headline suggests, so read the small print. These are the lowest prices on our city pages and what they cover:
- Brighton, ยฃ1,320. Brighton Implant Clinic’s price covers one implant with a zirconia crown, but its CT scan (ยฃ110 per jaw) is charged separately. The other nine Brighton clinics start between ยฃ2,200 and ยฃ2,800.
- Edinburgh, ยฃ1,495. City Dental Care’s price includes the crown, plus ยฃ149 for the CBCT scan and implant planning.
- Aberdeen, ยฃ1,750. This is a “Simplified” plan for single implants in the back teeth with minimal aesthetic considerations. Front teeth and more complex cases start at ยฃ3,000, and the page does not say whether the crown is included.
- Milton Keynes, ยฃ1,800. Listed as “Dental Implant, from ยฃ1,800 per implant”, without saying what is included.
- Kent, ยฃ1,850. Marden Dental and Implant Centre includes the implant and crown, with a CT scan at ยฃ125 and bone grafting from ยฃ425 per area if needed.
Which extras can change the total?
The scan, any bone graft and the consultation are the usual add-ons. Some examples from our city pages:
- In Leicester, The Windsor Dental Practice adds ยฃ250 if a graft is required.
- In Nottingham, one clinic says the CBCT scan, bite analysis and bone grafting are quoted at an additional charge.
- In Aberdeen, the clinics that charge for a first implant appointment or scan ask from ยฃ60 to ยฃ157.
Ask every clinic for a written, itemised quote covering the consultation, scan, implant, abutment, crown, any grafting and the review visits. Our bone graft guide lists what clinics charge for grafts and sinus lifts.
What are the legitimate ways to pay less?
Compare clinics, and consider travelling within the UK
Because prices are set by each practice, a clinic in a nearby town or city may charge noticeably less than those closest to you. Use the city table above as a starting point and check the clinic’s fee page yourself before you book.
A postgraduate training clinic
Undergraduate dental school clinics do not usually place implants; Liverpool, for example, lists implants among the treatments its students do not provide. Some clinics linked to master’s courses for qualified dentists do. Integrated Dentalcare in Edinburgh, a training facility for the UCLan MSc, charges ยฃ2217 including planning, any necessary X-rays or scans, the implant and the crown. ICE in Manchester says its student clinic treatment is significantly subsidised and best suited to healthy patients with straightforward cases. As the Edinburgh example shows, a training clinic is not always cheaper than the lowest private price, so compare. Our dental school implants guide has the details.
Spread the cost with 0% finance
Interest-free finance does not lower the price, but it avoids paying extra in interest. Examples from our city pages: City Dental Care in Edinburgh offers 0% finance on private treatment from ยฃ250; Cambridge Dental Hub offers 0% finance for up to 12 months; and Bristol Dental Sedation and Implant Clinic lets most treatments be spread over 12 months, interest-free, through an in-house plan (see our Bristol page). Read the terms, and compare the cash price with the total you will repay. Our finance guide explains the options.
Check whether you qualify on the NHS
Most people do not. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately, but are sometimes provided for patients who cannot wear dentures for reasons such as mouth cancer or an accident. See our guide to NHS dental implants.
Consider a different type of treatment
For one missing tooth, a bridge is often cheaper; our implant vs bridge guide compares prices. For a whole jaw, ask for prices for an implant-retained denture or mini implants as well as fixed options, and compare with our All-on-4 and full mouth implant guides.
Treatment abroad, with care
Some people travel for implants to save money. The General Dental Council’s advice on going abroad for treatment warns that dental regulation varies by country, and suggests checking whether the country has a regulatory body. It recommends asking what aftercare the clinic provides and whether further treatment for complications is included in the price. Our guides to implants in Turkey, Poland and Hungary, and our savings calculator, can help you weigh it up.
What should you check before choosing a cheap clinic?
- The dentist is on the General Dental Council register. The GDC says only people registered with it can legally practise dentistry in the UK.
- You are assessed before you get a price. The GDC says you should always be assessed by a qualified dentist before being given a treatment plan and cost estimate.
- The quote is itemised and says whether the crown, scan, grafting and reviews are included.
- The clinic names the implant system it uses. Our brand comparison explains the main ones.
- You know what happens, and what it costs, if something goes wrong. Our complications guide covers the risks.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest price for a dental implant in the UK?
The lowest published price we found is ยฃ1,320 at Brighton Implant Clinic, which charges its CT scan (ยฃ110 per jaw) separately. In Edinburgh, City Dental Care starts at ยฃ1,495 plus ยฃ149 for the scan and planning. In the other cities in our table, the cheapest clinic starts at between ยฃ1,750 and ยฃ2,581.
Are cheap dental implants safe?
A lower price is not a problem in itself, as long as the dentist is registered with the General Dental Council, you are properly assessed before you get a treatment plan, and the quote shows exactly what is included. Prices vary because practices set their own fees.
Can I get free or cheap implants at a dental school?
Undergraduate student clinics do not usually provide implants. Some postgraduate training clinics do: Integrated Dentalcare in Edinburgh charges ยฃ2217 including the crown on the UCLan MSc programme, and ICE in Manchester offers subsidised treatment for suitable cases.
Can I get dental implants on the NHS?
Rarely. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately, and are sometimes provided for people who cannot wear dentures for reasons such as mouth cancer or an accident.
Does 0% finance make implants cheaper?
It does not lower the price, but it spreads the cost without interest. Several clinics on our city pages offer 0% finance, for example over up to 12 months. Compare the cash price with the total repayable before you sign.
