What a Belfast implant quote can include
A single implant has three parts: the implant itself (the post in the jaw), the abutment that connects it, and the crown you see. The NHS describes it this way: “a titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to support a crown, bridge or denture” (NHS). Some clinics give one price for all of it, and others price each part separately. These are the other itemised figures we found on the same clinics’ pages:
- Elite Dental Practice: CBCT scan £250; bone graft from £200.
- Morrison Dental Clinic: cosmetic implant crown (layered, zirconia or gold abutment) £1,250.
- Beechview Dental Care: bone grafting from £1,425.
- Sandown Dental & Implant Clinic: cone beam CT scan from £180.
- Cavehill Dental & Implant Clinic: bone grafting £692.
Seven of the 10 clinics publish a fee for the first implant appointment or scan, from £50 (The Dental Centre Belfast) to £175 (Marlborough Clinic Belfast). Free first consultation, according to the clinic's page: Elite Dental Practice.
Finance terms published on the clinics’ own pages:
- Gentle Dental Care: Finance available for treatment of £500 or more
If you want to spread the cost, ask which lender the clinic uses, the APR and the total amount repayable, and get it in writing before treatment starts.
Whatever the clinic, ask for a written quote that lists the implant, abutment, crown, scans, any bone graft and the follow-up visits before you agree to treatment. Our guide to questions to ask at an implant consultation covers what to check, and the bone graft guide explains when that extra cost applies.
Who inspects dental clinics in Belfast?
The CQC is “the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England” (CQC), so it does not inspect clinics in Northern Ireland. There, the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority publishes inspection reports for registered services, with a filter for private dental clinics. Search for the clinic by name before you book.
Check the dentist, not just the clinic
The regulator looks at the practice. The person who places your implant is a separate check. The General Dental Council register lets you “confirm whether a dental professional is registered with us and able to practise in the UK”, and the GDC says dental professionals “have to be registered with us in order to work”. You can search the register by name, town or GDC registration number. Ask the clinic for the name of the dentist who will do the surgery, and check them before you pay a deposit.
Can you get dental implants on the NHS in Belfast?
Very rarely. The NHS website says implants are “usually only available privately and are expensive”, and that they are only rarely available on the NHS “for patients who cannot wear dentures for certain reasons, such as mouth cancer or an accident” (NHS: dental treatments). For routine tooth loss, every clinic in the table above is a private option. Our NHS dental implants guide explains who qualifies and how a referral works.
