Quick answer: we checked the fee pages of 10 dental clinics in Cambridge (including Chesterton and Trumpington) on 14 October 2026. Their published starting prices for a single dental implant run from £1,950 to £3,500. Six of them say the price includes the crown, or list the crown on the same page: from £1,950 to £3,500. Many of these are “from” prices, so your final figure is confirmed after a consultation and a scan.

Before you compare the figures:
- Devonshire House Dental Practice: The practice's dental implants page gives a lower figure in its FAQ: single implant and crown from £3,200.
- Prices change. If a figure in the table no longer matches the clinic’s page, the clinic’s page is the one that counts.
What a Cambridge implant quote can include
A single implant has three parts: the implant itself (the post in the jaw), the abutment that connects it, and the crown you see. The NHS describes it this way: “a titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to support a crown, bridge or denture” (NHS). Some clinics give one price for all of it, and others price each part separately. These are the other itemised figures we found on the same clinics’ pages:
- Cambridge Dental Hub: CBCT scan £95 if required.
- St Mark's Dental and Aesthetic Clinic: internal sinus lift £400.
- ToothStation Dental Practice: bone grafting from £450.
- Williamson Dental: CBCT scan (off site) £160; bone augmentation from £360.
- Devonshire House Dental Practice: bone grafting from £315.
- Hills Road Dental Practice: fee list: implant supported crown from £3,350.
- Regent Dental Practice: CT scans from £125.
- Cambridge Dental: bone grafts from £500.
Three of the 10 clinics publish a fee for the first implant appointment or scan, from £65 (Cambridge Dental Hub) to £150 (Cambridge Dental). Free first consultation, according to the clinic's page: Williamson Dental, Dentistry and More.
Finance terms published on the clinics’ own pages:
- Cambridge Dental Hub: 0% finance for up to 12 months (conditions apply)
- Cambridge Dental: Interest-free finance options
If you want to spread the cost, ask which lender the clinic uses, the APR and the total amount repayable, and get it in writing before treatment starts.
Whatever the clinic, ask for a written quote that lists the implant, abutment, crown, scans, any bone graft and the follow-up visits before you agree to treatment. Our guide to questions to ask at an implant consultation covers what to check, and the bone graft guide explains when that extra cost applies.
How to read the CQC results
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) registers and inspects dental practices in England, but it does not give them an overall rating. In its own words: “Some services – like dentists – we don’t have the legal power to rate.” (CQC: find a dentist)
Instead, each inspected practice shows a result for five areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Here is how to read the CQC column in the table above:
- Regulations met (reports from June 2024 onwards): the CQC says this means “we haven’t found any breaches of the regulations for that area”.
- No action (older reports): the same judgement under the CQC’s previous wording. In both cases the CQC is “not demanding change from the provider”.
- Registered, not yet inspected: the practice is registered but has no inspection yet under its current provider. The CQC says new services are assessed at registration “to check they are likely to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led”, and that “follow-up inspections of new services are undertaken regularly following registration”.
- Last report with an older date: the profile shows the date of the last report but no area summary. Open the CQC link to read the full report.
Check the dentist, not just the clinic
The CQC looks at the practice. The person who places your implant is a separate check. The General Dental Council register lets you “confirm whether a dental professional is registered with us and able to practise in the UK”, and the GDC says dental professionals “have to be registered with us in order to work”. You can search the register by name, town or GDC registration number. Ask the clinic for the name of the dentist who will do the surgery, and check them before you pay a deposit.
Can you get dental implants on the NHS in Cambridge?
Very rarely. The NHS website says implants are “usually only available privately and are expensive”, and that they are only rarely available on the NHS “for patients who cannot wear dentures for certain reasons, such as mouth cancer or an accident” (NHS: dental treatments). For routine tooth loss, every clinic in the table above is a private option. Our NHS dental implants guide explains who qualifies and how a referral works.
